Allocated teacher-only days

Minister-approved teacher-only days in 2023 and 2024

In 2022 the Minister of Education allocated 4 teacher-only days for 2023 and 2024. Schools can choose a day within these time periods to hold their teacher-only day.

2023

• Term 2, 24 April - 5 May 2023
• Term 4, 13 - 24 November 2023.

2024

• Term 2, 27 May - 7 June 2024
• Term 4, 21 October - 15 November 2024.

These teacher-only days are a part of implementing changes relating to the national curriculum and NCEA. Schools do not need to make up for these days to meet the minimum number of half days for the year.
